I can soooooo relate to this. I worked as a summer intern in Hollywood @ 1982. Although I was not politically awake then, I swore I would avoid any and all pitfalls of corruption. But after only 3 months, I changed. Many people asked where I was from because acquired a weird London/New York combo accent from trying fit in after being ridiculed for my flat midwest accent. I noticed that every person in a managerial position was jewish. Every. Single. One. All the support staff were not. No exceptions. I was relieved to get out of there.
